About the Program:
Telemedicine is moving healthcare from the hospital to the clinic to the home. Giving a doctor more facetime with patients in their home environment improves treatment, gives the doctor a better opportunity to teach healthy habits and augments home care and self-care.
It also addresses the need for healthcare in areas where doctors are scarce such as rural areas and low income city neighborhoods.
With Chiron Health's platform and services telemedicine will become part of the standard of care. It will open markets for home based medical devices, implantables, and environmental sensors.
Andrew O'Hara spent the early part of his career as a stock analyst covering electronic health record (EHR) vendors. Andy became increasingly interested in the adjacent telemedicine space as reimbursement for it became more and more favorable. He started the MBA program at the McCombs School of Business, but took a leave from the program in October 2013 to found Chiron Health.
This program is a continuing part of TAG's focus on innovative new technology based businesses that provide a glimpse of the area's economic future. Entrepreneurs: TAG's program presents case studies in how to start, sustain and become successful. Come to TAG to meet people who are following the entrepreneurial path.
May meeting to be held one week early due to Memorial Day Weekend -- May 19, 2017
